Page tours and How HabitForge works
HabitForge shows you around in two ways: a short tour of the page you are on, and one page that explains the whole app in six steps. Both are there whenever you want them, and neither starts by itself.
The page tour
Nine pages have a tour: the landing page, Today, Habits, New habit, Analytics, Achievements, Community, Settings and Plans.
- Start it from the signpost button, Take a tour of this page. It sits beside the theme button in the header, on every page that has a tour, on a phone too.
- The first time you open one of those pages, a short line under the button says New here? Take a quick tour of this page. It shows once per page, and once for your account, so a second device does not repeat it. It leaves by itself after a few seconds.
- Move through it with Back and Next. All steps lets you jump to any step, and Skip tour or Escape closes it at any point.
- Share a step. The address carries the step (
?tour=3), so a link opens the tour at that step.
On a phone the step card sits at the bottom of the screen, and the part of the page it explains is scrolled into view.
How HabitForge works
How HabitForge works is the whole app in six steps, one real screen each:
- Create a habit: name it, pick build, break or maintain, and write the loop.
- Check in each day: one press on Today, and press it again to undo.
- Watch the rope thicken: thread, string, rope, cable, chain.
- Keep going with other people: the board, friends, challenges and the leaderboard.
- Say it with Speak: say what you did, and nothing is saved until you press Save.
- Pick a plan when you need one: Free is the whole product; Pro and Family lift the ceilings.
It is open to everyone, signed in or not. Find it under How it works in the sidebar's foot, in the site footer, and on the sitemap. The address carries the step too (?step=3), and the arrow keys and a swipe move between steps.
