Check-ins and streaks
A check-in is how you tell HabitForge you did a habit. Each day a habit is due, you mark it done from the dashboard. Consecutive check-ins build a streak, and every check-in adds points.
How it works
- Open the dashboard. Habits due today sit at the top with a check button.
- Tap the button to check in for that habit.
- Your streak for the habit goes up, points are added, and the rope grows a little stronger.
- Miss a due day and the streak resets — the rope starts to fray.
Streaks count consecutive on-schedule days, so a habit scheduled for weekdays is not broken by skipping a weekend it was not due.
Your longest streak is kept
A broken streak resets the one you are running. It does not erase the longest one you have ever reached — that is kept separately and shown on your dashboard and on the leaderboard.
It only ever goes up. Missing a day costs you the current run and nothing else, which is the point: the number that says what you are capable of should not be deleted by one bad week.
Points and level
Check-ins earn points that accumulate across all your habits. Points raise your forge level through ten tiers — see Levels and points.
Tips
- Check in at the same time each day. A fixed moment (right after your cue) makes the check-in itself a habit.
- Do not backfill dishonestly. The rope is only useful when it reflects what really happened.
- A reset is not a failure. Streaks are meant to restart; the level and total points you have earned stay with you.
