Install and offline

HabitForge is a Progressive Web App (PWA), so you can install it to your home screen and keep tracking without a connection. No app store is required for the web version — the browser installs it.

Install from the browser

  • Desktop (Chrome, Edge): use the install icon in the address bar, or the browser menu's "Install HabitForge".
  • Android: the browser offers "Add to Home screen". This is the way to run HabitForge on Android today — the native app is not on Google Play yet.
  • iPhone / iPad: in Safari, tap Share → Add to Home Screen. This is how iOS users run HabitForge, since there is no App Store build.

Once installed, HabitForge opens in its own window like any other app.

Offline support

HabitForge keeps working when you lose connectivity:

  • Your habits and recent data are cached on the device.
  • Check-ins you make offline are queued and sync automatically when you reconnect.
  • The header shows when you are offline so you know changes are pending.

Because sync is automatic, you rarely have to think about it — track as usual and HabitForge reconciles when the network returns.

Tips

  • Install it so a home-screen tap is all it takes to check in.
  • Trust the queue. Offline check-ins are not lost; they sync later.
  • On iOS, add to home screen for a full-window, app-like experience.
