The Android app
The HabitForge Android app is built, but it is not on Google Play yet. This page describes what the native build adds; it will gain an install link when the listing goes live.
Until then, Android users get the full product through the web app, which installs to the home screen and works offline — see Install and offline.
There is no iOS app yet, because it needs an Apple Developer account. On iPhone or iPad, use the web app and add it to your home screen.
Automatic updates
The Android app updates itself in the background. When a fix or improvement ships, the app fetches it and applies it, so you get updates without waiting for a full store release. You keep using HabitForge normally while updates arrive.
Notifications
Push notifications are optional and off unless you turn them on. When enabled, HabitForge can send you the occasional announcement. Your daily and per-habit reminders are separate: they are raised by your own device and arrive whether or not push is on. On Android 13 and newer, the app asks for notification permission the first time you opt in — never at launch.
Signing in
Sign-in on Android is Google-only, using the device's native account picker. See Get started.
Tips
- Use the web app on your phone in the meantime — add it to your home screen and it behaves like an installed app.
- Enable notifications only if you want them — the rope works fine as a silent cue.
- Your data follows your Google account, so the Android app and the web app stay in sync.
Where to next
- Install and offline — the web/PWA install path.
- Get started — sign in and add a habit.
- Changelog — what each release added.
